Detox With Dry Brushing

Dry brushing is an essential – and energizing – skin detox that is basically a combination of exfoliation and massage. The firm bristles of the brush give your skin a thorough exfoliation while the pressure helps to stimulate circulation and lymphatic drainage, which helps rid the body of toxins.

External benefits:

  • Unclogs pores
  • Exfoliates the skin, leaving it looking brighter and feeling beautifully smooth and soft.

Internal benefits:

  •  Stimulates the lymphatic system, helping to speed up the process of eliminating metabolic waste from the body.
  •  Increases blood circulation to the skin, helping to release toxins from within.
  • Helps reduce the appearance of cellulite by loosening fatty areas under the skin.
  • The bristles stimulate your nervous system and feel amazing.

How to do it:

Get yourself a good body brush with a long handle. Amazon has a ton. Look for one made from natural fibers like sisal.

Brush your entire body, starting with your feet and working upwards with large, upward stroking motions.

Make sure both your skin and the brush bristles are dry, and always brush TOWARDS your heart, as this encourages lymph flow to the main ducts of the lymphatic system.

Use more pressure on the feet, legs, arms, and butt; and less pressure on the front and back of the torso.

When you’re finished, your skin should have a nice pink glow, but should not look red or feel irritated. You can brush for two minutes up to a half-hour – or more!

Do this before a shower to rid the surface of your skin of any toxins that have been released and any dead skin cells.

They make a great small brush for your face, which I love. My son used this on his nose for acne along with the crunchi gentle face bar and the acne was gone within 2 days.
